  • Large Not-for-Profit Organization Engages GalaxE.Solutions® for Grant Budgeting System - July 2008
    GalaxE.Solutions®, Inc., will create a state-of-the-art Grant Budgeting System (GBS) for one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in the world. The solution for the not-for-profit client was designed around a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach, where functionality is grouped around business processes and packaged as interopable services. GalaxE's implementation of SOA for development of this GBS application will provide secure, reliable, transaction-based messaging and complete interoperability, with all business flows captured and implemented using a lightweight and extensible engine. The GBS application will have the ability to administer each workflow that runs in the system and allow any user to update a workflow online. Business rules will be separated from the code for convenient on-demand, approval-based user updates through a simple user interface.

  • GalaxE.Solutions® Launches COBOL Training Program - June 2008
    As part of its continued leadership role in new Information Technology initiatives, GalaxE.Solutions®, Inc., launched its first COBOL Training Program in early June. GalaxE started this training program to teach students the basics of one of the oldest programming languages, making a critical contribution to the related educational intitiaves and body of knowledge in the United States. COBOL, which stands for COmmon Business-Oriented Language, defines its primary domain in business, finance and adminstrative systems for companies and governments. As a result, GalaxE developed this new course to educate students on the importance and necessity of both learning and continuing with COBOL training. The classes meet for two hours a day, four days a week and will span a total of three months.

     
  • Another Major Retail Chain Engages GalaxE.Solutions® - June 2008
    A leader in the apparel and footwear industry, with a broad range of brands and associated products, has engaged GalaxE.Solutions®, Inc., to deploy its proven Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) methodology. GalaxE's IV&V will be used to ensure the smooth replatforming of an existing style/buy-play system to SAP. The major deliverables from GalaxE will include a well documented, re-usable codebase, as well as complete domain and business process models, current architecture review, and detailed recommendations. These deliverables will include a Proof of Concept (POC) and future state roadmap for this top retailer.

    One of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies has issued GalaxE.Solutions® its highest rating for IT project performance. GalaxE received a score of 4.8 out of a possible 5.0 for its performance across multiple fixed price engagements. The categories included Support, Quality, Delivery and Value. Of particular note – and highly unusual for this client – was that GalaxE consistently received the highest ratings in all categories. The client's projects were delivered successfully under extreme time and cost pressures.   • Leading retailer engages GalaxE.Solutions® for a BI assignment integrating Cognos with a PLM and SAP solution – July 2007
    GalaxE.Solutions® successfully concluded a Business Intelligence (BI) engagement for a large US retailer of high end apparel and leather goods. The client needed Cognos BI reports delivered from a huge volume of data residing in a PLM and SAP solution. GalaxE was able to deploy its proven Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) methodology to map the legacy PLM and SAP applications to design reports within Cognos and deliver reports that return PLM mission critical real-time data to the client.

  • GalaxE.Solutions® delivers MDM-based HR solution for a worldwide medical technology company – July 2007
    To address a Fortune 500 medical technology company’s global needs, GalaxE.Solutions® deployed its Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in leveraging Siperian’s capabilities to develop a Master Data Management (MDM)-based HR solution that will be used across more than 35 different countries. The successful deployment impacted several thousand global employees, and, despite the challenges, made use of legacy data residing in diverse systems like SAP and Lotus Notes. GalaxE utilized the state-of-the-art capabilities of Siperian for its MDM requirements.

  • Large US retailer of high end apparel and leather goods utilizes GalaxE.Solutions®’ IV&V methodology to manage its legacy applications – June 2007
    GalaxE.Solutions® deployed its Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) methodology at a leading retailer to manage its undocumented legacy planning applications deployed in a production system. Using GalaxE’s IV&V, current and target states of the application were established. Documentation on all applications and databases was delivered at the end of the project. The client benefited through the use of this documentation by all existing and new employees within the company.

  • Leading insurance company engages GalaxE.Solutions® to provide application development services to create a new Loss Prevention Engineering system – July 2007
    GalaxE.Solutions® successfully concluded the initial phase of a three phase project to design and develop a new loss prevention engineering system. GalaxE worked directly with the business users to define the new system from the ground up. The new system will allow the client’s underwriters to perform automated analysis, collection and reporting duties from the field location, while automatically synchronizing data through the company network. The design phase (Phase II) of the project is scheduled to begin in July with the system targeted for production use in early 2008.
