  • Save costs on hardware, software and personnel

  • Retain functionality of existing applications

  • React quickly and efficiently to new business developments

  • Work together with third parties efficiently and effectively

Legacy Application Replatforming (LAR) allows companies to migrate their existing business-critical applications to newer, better supported and more easily integrated platforms.

Many organizations have custom 3GL and 4GL applications that, while still possessing some value, are costly to maintain and enhance. These applications use obsolete programming languages that fail to integrate with Internet and industry-specific standards in use today. Often, these applications contain disparate and/or redundant data, and lack flexibility in handling business processes.

In addition, mergers and acquisitions have left many organizations with applications that cannot communicate seamlessly with each other. This seriously undermines the inherent efficiency gains in newly merged organizations. Replatforming is aimed at the replacement of obsolete hardware/operating system infrastructures, as well as obsolete middleware (i.e., increased performance and lowered costs).
